An Answer to Prayer

So, God is big. And fun. And I like Him. A lot.

Since coming to Jacksonville, all three of my team members have been looking for jobs. I was able to go out with them and assist them last Thursday, but beyond that I had to go into work each morning. That being said, I am very blessed to have a job that is not too tedious or that requires that much focus. So, I have been able to pray for them while at work the last few days.

This morning, a co-worker, Jill asked me if my girls had jobs and how they were feeling. I shared that I thought that they were feeling a little bit discouraged, and that it was getting harder on them as the days go on. After saying that, I felt a little nudge from the Spirit to send a text message encouraging them. It read:

"Praying today will be the day you find jobs. Remember, God is faithful. 2 Corinthians 9:8. He will provide all you need to abound in every good work. Hold fast to Him in prayer. Don't be discouraged."
Within just 5 minutes of sending that message, they each had replied back or later told me that it was exactly what they had needed to read at the time. They had just finished their jobs meeting this morning and were not feeling too excited to go out to look for jobs. So, that was encouraging to me to see the fruits of listening and obeying little whispers from the Spirit that are as seemingly insignificant as a text message.

Then later, we were at dinner and just before dinner, Maggie was telling me that she was not looking forward to the meeting tonight, because it was late and she was really not feeling well. I told her, that it might actually be really good. My exact words were, "Maybe Bob will magically have found jobs for all of you!" She looked at me like I was a crazy person. You could say she was definitely not buying that prediction AT ALL. In my head, it seemed that it could be - after all, a LOT of people have been praying for this...

So, they all go out to the meeting, and I was in the room. I heard some cheering and clapping, so I figured something good had happened, but it wasn't too long lived. Then, my girls all came back into the room, but didn't say anything. So, I didn't think anything of it. I left the room to go get my computer and heard from someone else that they all had jobs. So, I came back in the room and asked them if they had jobs, and they were all full of smiles and replied yes.

God is good. He is faithful. We are all amazed at the series of events that led us here. He has plans that are far greater than anything we could ever ask or imagine.
